5.2.2.7 ICONIC PROGRAM, PROGRAM EXECUTION

For completeness of Glinert's formalisms the iconic program is defined as an ordered triple. It consists of the initial display (D0), and entry set of signs (I0), and a defining set of instances not necessarily corresponding to the displayed signs.

(EQ 8) PI = <A0,D0,I0>

The execution of the program in an ordered pair with C0 the environment's initial internal state and EI representing the state of PI's components, input, and output at time t.
